Creating packagings for your units of measurement
The use of packagings allows you to establish different quantities of the product to different packagings. This can be used as a conversion rate between different units of measurement.
If ever the same product needs to be marketed to a different unit of measurement, simply change the unit of measurement in the name of the packaging and the quantity used. No need to create another version of this product in Erplain.
Additionally, packagings can be used when selling products in different packaging sizes or forms.
Here are two examples:
1/ Create a product which quantities are expressed in unit length, inches (ELECTRICAL CABLE - PER INCH).
Using packagings, the product can also be sold by the yard or mile. We can now create the following packagings:
2/ Create a product which quantities are expressed in unit of mass, ounces (COFFEE - PER OUNCE).
Using packagings, the products can also be sold in different packaging sizes expressed in ounces or pounds. We can now create the following packagings:
