In Erplain, it is possible to set up pricing rules based on the last purchase price. This feature is essential for businesses that negotiate prices and want to track their margin in real time when creating a quote, purchase order, or invoice.
Displaying the Last Purchase Price on Sales Documents
The goal is to allow users to view the last purchase price directly in their sales documents to facilitate margin calculation.
Configuration Steps
1. Create a price level called "Last Purchased Price (sales)":
- Go to the price management settings.
- Create a sales price level and name it "Last Purchased Price (sales)."
2. Create a pricing rule based on the last purchase price:
- Select the price type: Calculated.
- Set the base price as the last purchase price (Note: Erplain provides both the Weighted Average Cost and the last purchase price, so be sure to select the last purchase price in the second line).
- Choose an addition operation with a value of 0 (to retain the last purchase price without modification).
- Adjust rounding to 2 decimal places if necessary.
3. Select the sales price in your estimate or sales order to see your Margin:
